Who knew a store that carries the hottest trends at discount prices would also be in the hot seat for its potential anti-Semitism? H&M has recently been under fire for a tank top that displayed a red and black Star of David with a skull in the middle of it. The image of the skull with the Star of David, coupled with the dark undertones of the shirt, did not put forth the best message. The shirt and subsequent controversy went viral thanks to social media.
As soon as they became aware of the growing concern, they moved fast to ease everyone’s minds. In response to the issue, H&M released a statement saying, “We are sincerely sorry if the T-shirt print has offended anyone, it was not our intention to provoke such a reaction.” They also swiftly removed the shirt from stores.
What do you think about all of the controversy? Take a look at the image and sound off in the comments below!
